- B.A., Mathematics, Princeton University
- National High School Teacher Certification in Mathematics
- Masters of Studies in Law, Yale Law School
- Ph.D., Philosophy, M.I.T.
Occupation:
- UNH Philosophy Professor for 17 years.
- Faculty participant in recently created UNH Natural Resources Ph.D. Program.
- High school computer and mathematics teacher for 1 year.
Community:
- ORYA soccer coach
- 1997 ORSD Parent and Community Superintendent Search Committee
- 1995-97 Co-director of a project to integrate computer modeling into the ORSD science curriculum
at all levels. The project is funded with an Eisenhower Grant through the Department of Education
- 1992-97 Faculty member at summer workshops for New Hampshire K-12 teachers on making links
in the classroom between the humanities and the sciences.
- 1994-95 Project humanist for New Hampshire Public Television's participation in the National
Teacher Training Institute that is sponsored by Texaco and WNET.
Priorities
- Work to maintain the Oyster River School District's tradition of superior education.
- Practice sound, efficient fiscal management.
- Improve communication among the four schools and between parents and schools.
- Help the Oyster River School District--with support from parent volunteers and local businesses--
lead the state in the integration of information technologies into the curriculum.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve on the School Board. The Oyster River schools have many
strengths. With three new principals and a new superintendent this a great time to regroup and look
ahead.
