The Oyster River School Board recognizes the personnel of the Durham Police and Durham, Lee, and Madbury Fire Departments for their outstanding performance during the fire at Oyster River High School on the first of December 1999.

The school district is fortunate to be served by such dedicated individuals. We often take these men and women for granted until an emergency such as the fire at the high school focuses our attention on their talents and courage. Their willingness to put themselves in harms way is reassuring to all of us who live and work in the district.
