Bylaws of the School Board

Number of Members

The board shall consist of seven voting members and one non-voting student representative (see policy JJ entitled Student Representation to the School Board). Voting members shall serve overlapping terms of three years, as required by law. There shall be one member each from Durham, Lee, and Madbury, and four members at-large.

Oath of Office

The oath of office will be administered to elected officials by the moderator, school district clerk, or justice of the peace. Arrangement to pledge to the oath of office shall be no sooner than the Saturday following election day unless a recount is called for in which case the oath of office will be administered following the recount. The oath of office must be taken prior to assuming the duties of elected office.
