The Oyster River Teachers' Guild and the Oyster River School Board are pleased to announce that they have reached a collective bargaining agreement. The five year contract, which covers the current 1998-99 school year to 2002-03 includes a 0% increase for 1998-99, a 2.5% increase for 1999-2000, and increases (2% - 5%) keyed to cost of living adjustments for the remaining three years of the contract. Other features of the contract include changes in the language and procedures of supervision and evaluation, a provision for early retirement, a reduction in sick leave days, and other management related issues.
Both the Guild and the Board are satisfied by the terms of the contract which they believe are fair to teachers, administrators, students, and residents of the district. They look forward to working together in the upcoming years for the betterment of education in the Oyster River Cooperative School District.
