Our school art classes have started with enthusiasm. We've done self-portraits in many different styles and media. We've studied portraits done by Rembrandt, Copley, Van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci and others in order to prepare for this art unit.
The color wheel with its primary and secondary colors has been a subject of study. We also worked on Monarch butterflies and spiders which the students were studying in their classes.
Our 4th grade classes are studying drawing and shades and tints. Our 2nd grades and the 2/3 classes are suing poetry as the inspiration for their art work.
This year we are please to welcome Troy Corriveau as an intern in the art classes. He will be with us through December.
The cold and flu season will be with us before we know it. If it is convenient, we would appreciate donations of boxes of tissues to keep those germs under control. Thanks!
