I have had the pleasure of meeting and seeing all of your children in music. General music is taken by all of the children in the school for 30-45 minutes each week. The main emphasis of this class is for children to experience and learn about music by singing, dancing, acting, playing instruments, and playing musical games. My hope is that the children will experience music in a positive way!! I hope that some of the music will leave the music room and come into your home.
Children in the third and fourth grade are invited to participate in the chorus. The chorus meets on Tuesdays in the afternoon during school. The chorus will begin Tuesday, September 17. We will be rehearsing for our December Concert. The date will be announced soon. In January, the chorus will begin work on the musical that is performed in April. More information will be available about the musical in December. The chorus is a wonderful opportunity for all third and fourth graders and enhances the general music program .
Fourth graders are also given the opportunity to learn to play a band instrument and be part of the band. Hopefully, you have seen some information from Mark DeTurk.
I am at Mast Way Tuesday-Friday, if you have any questions. I plan to send other information home about the music program in the future. I look forward to seeing/meeting you!
