Hunger Awareness Banquet


On Tuesday, November 19 the Moharimet community will be holding its second Hunger Awareness Banquet. The banquet presents how global society eats on any given day, highlighting the unequal distribution of the world's resources. Each family in attendance is assigned by random drawing to one of the following three groups:

  1. High income - 15% of the families will receive a full course chicken dinner, complete with wait persons, tablecloths and place settings.
  2. Middle income - 25% will receive a simple meal of rice, beans and water.
  3. Low income - 60% will sit on the floor for a meal of rice and water.

Admission Price:

Please bring canned and non perishable food items, toiletries, underwear, socks, laundry detergent, diapers or anything else that can hd and non perishable food items, toiletries, underwear, socks, laundry detergent, diapers or anything else that can help needy families. Also, to keep our garbage production down, each person attending needs to bring a spoon.

Please Remember -- Reservations are required. Forms were sent home with students and need to be returned by November 1!!
