The Oyster River School Board has initiated a nationwide search for a new superintendent of schools. An advertisement placed in Education Week and other locations seeks "an exceptional educational leader" with experience in budget development, operations management, and expertise in curriculum and personnel assessment. Applicants must also possess strong communications skills and the ability to build positive school/community relationships.
The board is currently gathering information regarding the search process and will hold a community forum in the high school library at 7 PM on Wednesday, November 13th to receive input from district residents concerning qualities desired in candidates for the superintendency. The board will begin screening applicants on December 16 and anticipated a July 1, 1997 starting date if an acceptable candidate is identified.
