Welcome back! I hope you all had a great summer and are excited for the upcoming school year. To promote physical fitness and encourage people to become more active, I am offering an incentive program this fall. We are "setting sail into fitness". The goal is to get children and their families excited about exercise. The Surgeon General's Report has stated that "people of all ages, both male and female, benefit from regular physical activity. Significant health benefits can be obtained by exercising 3-5 times a week." Help yourself and your child to become physically fit by going for a walk, jog, or bike ride; develop an exercise routine that includes sit-ups, push-ups, and 5-10 minutes of physical activity, organize a game or physical activity. Just get out and exercise.
Each time you exercise, record it on the calendar. If after a week you have exercised five times, return the form to Allison Cohen and I will hang it in the Multi Purpose Room (MRP). Extra calendars are located in the hanging file outside the MPR. Pick one up each week. Let's try to get around the gym by Thanksgiving.
