Cultural Events Update

As the year winds down ORHS still has some exciting events to look forward to. David Rhode, Pulitzer Prize winner for international reporting, is expected to be at ORHS on May 21. He is generously taking time from his busy schedule to speak to ORHS students and staff about his experiences in Bosnia. On May 30 the ORHS Band, Jazz Band and Chorale will present their Spring Concert. There will be a daytime presentation for students and an evening performance for the community.

We would like to thank Dr. Barry Rock for coming to ORHS to make presentations to students on The Globe Program and Monitoring the Effects of Air Pollution on Forest Ecosystems. We appreciate the time and help he has given to the Cultural Events Committee in our efforts to support science enrichment at ORHS.

It is the goal of the OREW Cultural Events Committee to improve our children's education through a variety of programs that compliment, support and enrich the curriculum. As we begin to plan for next year we would like greater parent, teacher and student participation in soliciting, selecting and promoting these programs. Join us at our next OREW meeting or call Nancy Sawyer at 659-3795.
