The Lee Public Library and the Lee Recreation Department will be sponsoring a series of mini running clinics and fun runs this summer for all interested Oyster River middle and high school students. Todd Allen, Oyster River middle school teacher, coach, and experienced runner will conduct the series, to be held on four consecutive Thursday evenings -- July 19 and 26, and August 2 and 9 -- starting at 6 pm at the Lee Public Library.
The mini clinics are open to runners of all abilities and experience levels and will cover such areas as how to get started, conditioning, suggestions for physical and mental fitness, and getting the most out of your running ability. The noncompetitive fun runs will provide a welcoming atmosphere for beginners, as well as experienced runners. All fun runs will take place on the Lee Nature Trails. Refreshments will be served following the fun runs. Registration is required, and forms are available at the Lee Public Library. For further information, please call the library at 659-2626.
