ORHS 1999 Bond Proposal:
Comparison to Other School Projects

Below are the costs of other recent school projects in the area. They show how the costs for the proposed 1999 ORHS bond project compare to other projects. It shows that the proposed ORHS costs are comparable to a middle school costs which are typically much cheaper than a high school since they have less expensive facilities. It also shows the costs of 2 new high school projects, one just completed and one just starting.

For each project, the total project cost is listed as well as the size in square feet and the cost per square foot. Typically, a project is estimated based on the number of square feet multiplied by the cost per square foot. The number of square feet is based on the number of students and the programs provided.

These figures were presented at the bond forum on 12 Dec. 1998.
