Learning the eight patterns of technical evolution to anticipate tomorrow's designs today.
Knowing 76 standard solutions
Utilizing a wider knowledge base to access solutions from different industries and disciplines.
Identifying causes of failure modes and eliminating the causes.
After the seminar, you will be able to generate many design ideas using the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving. This methodology is based upon Genrich Altshuller's observations from years of patent research. He identified common lines of evolution for products and processes that will allow you to anticipate how your system or product will evolve. Altshuller also identified 40 principles used in inventive patents that solved design contradictions, where correcting one quality of a system degrades another. Design compromises caused by conflicting requirements can be significantly reduced.
You are encouraged to bring a design problem that has been troubling you and leave with some new concepts. Bring a notebook computer and work on your problem during the seminar.
